The western zodiac is a succession of twelve signs, each of them corresponding almost exactly to a month. Still, they don’t match the months of a year perfectly, as they are more connected with the stars and planets than with the humans’ tools of measuring time.
Through studying the Zodiac in a variety of vedic astrology books and magazines individuals are capable of learning so much about their inner selves through their horoscopes. There are many individuals who will pick up their daily newspaper just to read their daily horoscope, but few truly understand the true meaning of their Zodiac symbol in which they were born under.
Libra the scales
Those born under the sign of Libra, the Scales (September 24 – October 23), have a wonderful balance of traits. They’re considered to be diplomatic and urbane, romantic and charming, idealistic and peaceable. Even their darker characteristics aren’t so terrible. They can be flirtatious, easily influenced and indecisive. Curiously, Libra is the only sign of the Zodiac represented by an inanimate object, the Scales. Every other sign is represented by an animal or sea creature or person.
Almost everything needs to be ‘weighed in the balance’ for the pure Libran. Apart form the Librans, no other astrological sign has such a strong sense of balance, justice and fair play. This nature of the Libra can, sometimes result in them behaving in a positively miserly manner. And this tendency to balance every minute thing often extends beyond money values. As usual, they tend to have a well balanced religious and political view point.
The Sun is given the most credit when it comes to the zodiac. It is the information people give out when someone else asks “what’s your sign?” But the other planets of the zodiac have importance that shouldn’t be thrown away. Mercury influences how a person thinks and how that is portrayed to the outside world. Learning, communication and expression are all housed here. It also dictates whether a person moves through life with a strong sense of direction or a tendency to detour.
